The Becca Girl Talk Concert

Over the years, so many concerts have sprung up in Ghana, and most especially in the capital city of Accra. We have had situations where various events centers and auditoriums have had to play host to different performances in one night and yet all have had the privilege of attracting their right audience and at least filling these auditoriums to almost three fourth of their capacity.

Last year, a new concert joined the already packed activities of December. The Becca Girl Talk concert had other additional surprises aside being a new addition. It was a concert for girls only. Yes. Girls only and only ladies were allowed into the auditorium of the National Theater. It was tagged as the ultimate girls’ night out and truly, it lived up to its billing.

With the National Theater filled with ladies who mainly came in groups, Becca and her display of a musical performance interspersed with advice from prominent women on women and life issues got the audience wowed with surprises and contentment.

The Becca Girl Talk is a far cry from the usual concerts Ghanaians are used to. There are usual situations of various artists being put on a bill with them performing back to back with the only talk being that from the Emcees. The Girl Talk Concert is a performance heralded by the main act, Becca. All the other activities are woven into the performance and are not isolated from the main theme of the concert.

Last year for instance, the former First Lady of Ghana, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings spoke to the audience about how she has kept her marriage going for all this while and with all the pressure. Joselyn Dumas, the TV Presenter spoke about her struggles with weight issues and how she decided to lose weight for herself. There were surprise acts from Funny Face, John Dumelo, Majid Michel and KOD.

The Becca Girl Talk returns this year, this December with a lot more promise and excitement. The concert will come off on the 21^st of December at the auditorium of the national Theater. As wine ages with time, the second edition of the Becca Girl Talk Concert will be an awesome experience. Again, no males will be allowed to enter however since we cannot trust that the males will totally stay away, there will be an entertainment unit made of pool tables and television to keep them occupied.
