Good Women

Women are never good enough!!! Well, that is according to men, generally. :-)

We all know there are women who change after marriage. We know of those who dont respect their husbands. We know some who immediately disappear and seek divorce should their husband's financial level drops for whichever reason. We do known of those who never cook and never manage their homes.

Just By Grace

The following are actual situations of some people. No names are mentioned though and it is meant to make you realize that indeed, life is undulating. And it is all by grace.

Once there lived a young man, overly sheltered by his rich parents. They gave him all he ever wanted and more. In the business others did for money and livelihood, he did for fun. He had some people around him. They were not from homes as good enough as his and indeed they were struggling.

Y'ede Awhrehuo - We Are Mourning

The death of the President Mills of Ghana on July 24th 2012 gave birth to a level of creativity that I am yet to see a good enough competition for.

That same day was when the Musicians Union of Ghana was launching their website at the African Regent Hotel. Mid way into the launch, the news broke of the President's death. As part of his closing remarks, the emcee, Kwame Sayiamah announced that the President had passed.

Sakyiwaa Mensah on YFM

On the evening of Sunday July 21st 2013, I had an interview on the MPwr(Empower) Show on YFM in Accra. The program is hosted by Emmanuel Gamor and Amma Aboagye. Let me just add that those two have a beautiful chemistry and their song choices, aided by their DJ is very much on point.

Of Business, Marriage and Co-Habitating

Once I was having lunch with a friend. He did not seem to understand why marriage was so important. He felt people could just easily co-habitate and the whole hustle of weddings and the marriage ceremonies could be forgotten. I tried to tell him that marriage offers some security and in the event of a divorce, partners could be entitled to parts of properties acquired by both. I mentioned that co-habitating can make people just decide to pack and leave anytime without feeling the need to at least try to make the union work.

Hope with HIV

There is a seminar on the media and HIV reportage currently ongoing at Hotel Ivotel Plateau, Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire for which I am partaking. It is from July 8th to July 11th 2013.

Help Me Read!

I have been nursing a growing pain from trying to read status after status which people put up on social media. There is this new silly trend of people spelling words differently from their original spellings. Whenever such people put up a status update, reading them becomes a nightmare.

The Flawless Flow Of Comedy

Over and over again, Ghanaians have questioned how come the Nigerian comedians are way better at telling jokes than their Ghanaian counterparts. This question come up majorly, around the times when comedy shows are about to be staged and it is realized that majority, if not all of the comedians are Nigerians.

Entrepreneurs, Be Real!

I keep witnessing a worrying trend of some young entrepreneurs talking, and posing as if all is well and all became well soon as they began their own businesses. And mind you, these people haven't quite made it yet.

Then there are the older group of entrepreneurs who have actually made it. At least their businesses are standing and expanding and they have so many people working for them yet they will say they are not there yet.

Plan Your Ideas

Often times, it is easier for people to pass comments on your ideas. They suddenly become consultants in whichever field and more often, they just expect you to take their advice in all its fullness and follow it to the last bit.

Akesse Sings "Crazy Love"

I sometimes pride myself with knowing good music. I am not a chaser of new things, music included yet when I hear a good tune, I take time off to soak it in. I was listening to Sunny FM one day when I heard a tune set in a Reggae groove.

ENOUGH!!! Celebrating ME! :-)

Sakyiwaa Mensah. Myself. :-)
This morning, just as I woke up and while still appreciating the Grace of God and His mercies, It dawned on me that indeed I am not a lost cause. It dawned on me that some people really tried to make me feel lousy about myself, maybe because they felt threatened in their own lazy corners for whatever reasons.

The Showmanship We Crave, Yet Misinterpret!

Chris Brown

On the recent Chris Brown Concert in Accra, Ghana, someone tagged me in a post about the whole concert and the weed smoking(supposed). I did not answer because I did not attend the concert and aside the smoking, no one, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE had made enough sense to give me a clear enough picture of what happened at the Stadium that night.

The KwikAdvance Launch Event

Some Executives of MFS Ghana Limited
Sipping on champagne in tiny wine glasses while the product was declared launched at the College of Surgeons and Physicians, I felt some happiness for this new product whose launch I had been invited to.

Empowered To Lose

From the times when women were generally considered as not human enough to the times when various organizations and stakeholders have worked hard at turning this syndrome around, I must say I appreciate all the hard work and input that has gone into making the various societies see women as human enough and as capable enough.

And We Spoke About Sex. . . Openly!!!

The Resource Persons, Prof Akosa and Rev Lutterodt

In a society where issues concerning reproductive health, sex and sexuality are hushed up, it is increasingly becoming worrisome that negative issues concerning these keep growing. In the light of this, and to help in demystifying the silence, a reproductive health seminar was held in Accra on Friday, February 15th 2013.

Such Suffering Is NOT A Must!

I live in a part of the world where so many ideologies surprise me. I have never traveled outside my country, Ghana so all the ideas and ideals I have concerning other countries and continents are mainly from movies and documentaries.

My country has a lot of people living in poverty. There are a few rich people and then those who are neither filthy rich nor filthy poor. The averagely living people.
