HIV\AIDS FREE AWARENESS CONCERT

Joey B and Edem entertaining the audience

The 1st of December has come to be known and celebrated as World AIDS Day for some years now. For this year’s celebration, Kaylers Communications joined in the awareness campaign by organizing a free awareness concert on the pandemic. The event took place at the Aviation Social Center in Accra on December 1st

Artists who thrilled the audience which was made up of mainly school children and a few adults were DI Green, Joey B, Gemini and Edem. They all spoke about the pandemic and advised the children to concentrate on their school and to abstain from sex since aside the possibility of getting the HIV virus, they could also get pregnant and might have to be forced to drop out of school. Other information on the pandemic was also delivered by some members of the LEO Club and the Emcee.

There were various exciting moments during the concert when some of the children decided to compete on their own free will. There were rap and dance competitions which were aptly coordinated by the emcee for the show, Isaac Wilberforce Mensah, aka Spikey with support from some members of the LEO Club. Just after Edem performed, one child told the emcee he could rap in Ewe better than Edem and called for a challenge between him and Edem. He rapped and got the audience excited. Edem dashed him a present for being confident enough to call for a challenge. All the children who competed won prizes from the sponsors of the program.

Before the actual concert started, the children were put into groups. Some played football and basketball while some had an interactive question and answer moment on HIV\AIDS.

The event was sponsored by RLG Communications, Indomie and First Capital Plus.
