The KwikAdvance Launch Event

Some Executives of MFS Ghana Limited
Sipping on champagne in tiny wine glasses while the product was declared launched at the College of Surgeons and Physicians, I felt some happiness for this new product whose launch I had been invited to.

KwikAdvance is a credit product that allows employees to access up to 40% of their net salary advance through their mobile phone. Repayment of the loan is three days after salary payment. The service has been piloted with MTN Mobile Money over the past year with the five companies signing up including Elican School, Buck Press and New Times Corporation.

The launch happened on the evening of Wednesday March 13th 2013. It was a small yet very impressive ceremony which had some top business Executives present. Judy Chang of MFS Ghana Limited gave a general overview of the product and the benefits it comes with. A video of some happy users of the product was played to the audience after which Tony Oteng-Gyasi of Tropical Cables and Conductor Limited was called upon to do the actual launching. Impressed by the use of technology to help solve such issues as salary advancement for workers, Mr Oteng-Gyasi lauded the brains behind the product and hoped that it could be able to get linked to bank accounts, eventually.

Bridgid Adoku from MFS Ghana took the audience through the six easy steps with which one can access the KwikAdvance service while the audience munched on the many display of finger foods and sipped on the different drinks available.
