"ASSASSIN" STEVEN ADUSEI

Assassins love to kill, by any means and ways possible either for their financial reward or revenge while those who order them might do so for political reasons. Last year, I got myself shot by none other than the renowned “assassin”, Steven Adusei.

Steven has a love for shooting anything from humans to food, landscapes and anything he deems interesting enough to be captured by his Canon Professional system, Elinchrom Lighting and other Pro Level Equipment. Photographers and videographers shoot to capture anything they deem interesting. Unlike real assassins, they do not kill; they only shoot to capture a moment with a camera.

I got to know Steven through a mutual friend on Facebook. I had to meet this extremely busy “globetrotter” of a professional for a graphic design work. I eventually found myself in his studio at #63 Kade Avenue, Kanda, Accra, Ghana for him to shoot me. I have a fair idea of how photographers work and it really was fascinating how he was so engrossed in ensuring that a certain light somewhere was reflective enough, or that the chair was well situated, or that my face looked oily and had to be powdered and gosh, the man was paying attention to every little detail such that before the actual shooting began, which was for six pictures, he had taken more than six trial pictures. And yes, he did shoot me but there was no blood! Later on I went through his profile on Facebook and visited his personal/commercial site, www.beautifulghana.com, his Facebook page, facebook.com/stevenaduseiphotography, and his personal Facebook page, Steven Adusei.

Steven’s particular interests are in shooting live events, portraits, commercial photos, landscape and food. He loves to travel and always ensures that he has captured any location he deems beautiful. He has a tall client list (this man is an international photographer – that’s why I call him The Globetrotter) which includes shooting pictures for the cover designs of Shirley Frimpong-Manso’s movies, Ghanaian singer Irene Logan, rappers, Sarkodie, Papi(Five5) and Okyeame Kwame, actress, Yvonne Nelson and actor, Chris Attoh, television presenter and actress Joselyn Dumas, Nigerian actress Damilola Adegbite, and yes, yours truly, budding writer, Akosua Sakyiwaa.

This heavily creative brain is one busy man. He travels a lot, mostly on photography assignments for his numerous clients. He could be in Ghana on Sunday, out on Wednesday and be back by Saturday to capture a Ghanaian traditional marriage and its usual church weddings. Busy as he is, you might want to do an early booking to get this man. His studio, which is in the same building as his ColorsPro Graphic Design Firm at Kanda works Mondays to Fridays from 8am to 5pm and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. You can contact him on (GH+233.24.331.1885 USA: +1.301.591.4462) for your bookings. Or alternatively, you can send him an email via steve@stevenaduseiphotography.com. His website is www.stevenaduseiphotography.com.

Do well to take a trip to his sites and go through his gallery. If you are a human being fan like I am, am certain you will love the various wedding and anniversary photos! Oh I love the food pictures too. . .the cakes!
