The Fashion Fair And The Free Make Up

The Event Poster

The fashionistaGH Shopping Festival is an annual event which was started a year ago by OB Abenser, founder of Fashionista Ghana. It started off as a Facebook page with particular interest in promoting the cloths and fashion accessories of majorly upcoming Ghanaian Fashion Designers and some established ones.

For its first year anniversary, the Founder and his team staged the first FashionisGH shopping Festival at the Events Haven, inside Trade Fair, La, Accra. It was a one day event which pulled a number of exhibitors and patrons.

This year, the second edition was staged for three days. It lasted from March 30th to April 1st. There were many exhibitors ranging from cloth designers to fashion accessory designers to food to beauty and health products to fabrics. The three days witnessed an impressive turnout on each day as patrons trooped in to window shop, shop and mingle. The event was crowned with a fashion show by some of the exhibitors.

Among the exhibitors was Kenzo’s Place, a beauty salon and barbershop originally located near the Cantonments Post Office in Accra. They had a booth at the fair and at this booth, they offered free make up to as many ladies as possible for the first two days. The last day witnessed the salon making up the faces and fixing the hair of the models who walked on the runway for the fashion shows.

The free make up drove a lot of traffic to the Kenzo’s Place booth. There were men who asked for haircuts and beard trimmings but those were not on offer during the fair. Aside the makeup, the salon mounted their newest equipment, the cold fusion hair technology equipment. This cold fusion allows for individual strands of hair (it has to be proper human hair) to be attached to your own hair directly. It does not use any weave or sewing or bonding of hair to your scalp. The hair feels light, natural and much like one’s own hair. This can last for over six months and wearers can still relax their hair, wash it, blow dry and basically treat it like their own hair!!!

Other items on sale were their Nouritress range of hair products which have the powerful ability to stop hair thinning and balding and to enhance hair growth. There were human hair as well as Skin Doctor products on sale as well.

The salon’s other tag name is the Trendsetter Beauty and Barbershop. Now, to be a trendsetter means to be ahead, to be on top, to be abreast and to be in the lead. If you deem yourself a trendsetter, then you sure should look at fixing yourself at the trendsetter salon. The environment, ambience and spaciousness of the salon alone will make you a loyal client!
