Y'ede Awhrehuo - We Are Mourning

The death of the President Mills of Ghana on July 24th 2012 gave birth to a level of creativity that I am yet to see a good enough competition for.

That same day was when the Musicians Union of Ghana was launching their website at the African Regent Hotel. Mid way into the launch, the news broke of the President's death. As part of his closing remarks, the emcee, Kwame Sayiamah announced that the President had passed.

Sakyiwaa Mensah on YFM

On the evening of Sunday July 21st 2013, I had an interview on the MPwr(Empower) Show on YFM in Accra. The program is hosted by Emmanuel Gamor and Amma Aboagye. Let me just add that those two have a beautiful chemistry and their song choices, aided by their DJ is very much on point.

Of Business, Marriage and Co-Habitating

Once I was having lunch with a friend. He did not seem to understand why marriage was so important. He felt people could just easily co-habitate and the whole hustle of weddings and the marriage ceremonies could be forgotten. I tried to tell him that marriage offers some security and in the event of a divorce, partners could be entitled to parts of properties acquired by both. I mentioned that co-habitating can make people just decide to pack and leave anytime without feeling the need to at least try to make the union work.

Help Me Read!

I have been nursing a growing pain from trying to read status after status which people put up on social media. There is this new silly trend of people spelling words differently from their original spellings. Whenever such people put up a status update, reading them becomes a nightmare.

The Flawless Flow Of Comedy

Over and over again, Ghanaians have questioned how come the Nigerian comedians are way better at telling jokes than their Ghanaian counterparts. This question come up majorly, around the times when comedy shows are about to be staged and it is realized that majority, if not all of the comedians are Nigerians.

Entrepreneurs, Be Real!

I keep witnessing a worrying trend of some young entrepreneurs talking, and posing as if all is well and all became well soon as they began their own businesses. And mind you, these people haven't quite made it yet.

Then there are the older group of entrepreneurs who have actually made it. At least their businesses are standing and expanding and they have so many people working for them yet they will say they are not there yet.

Plan Your Ideas

Often times, it is easier for people to pass comments on your ideas. They suddenly become consultants in whichever field and more often, they just expect you to take their advice in all its fullness and follow it to the last bit.
